Experimental illustration series of the Diamonds from Steven Universe.
Blue Diamond
The project includes 4 separate portraits. Each illustration is created with basic shapes that align and intersect into making up shapes that create a whole look. The first one in the series is Blue Diamond. Her portrait is inspired of art interpretations of the Virgin Mary
Yellow Diamond
The second portrait of the series is that of Yellow Diamond‘s. Her portrait is the simplest of the four and the illustration I struggled most with as yellow on its own is a difficult color palette to work with.
Pink Diamond
Pink Diamond has the most iterations of design for the project totaling an amount of 3 versions. Her character is introduced with so much mystery in the series so as we learn more about who she is, the more modifications I made with the portrait. I feel this latest update reflects her character the most.
White Diamond
White Diamond is the latest work of the project and my most favorite work. Her design may be the most angular of the four, inspired from her perfectionist personality upon being introduced in the series.
