An illustration series demonstrating how strong pattern designs can emerge from any source of inspiration.
From Sketch to Design
Sometimes a whiteboard sketches should stay a whiteboard sketch. This was not one of those times.
The project began as a rough whiteboard anatomical doodle and eventually evolved into a fully developed illustration series with multiple pattern variations and applications. Beyond serving as an exploration of illustration and graphic design, the patterns were also designed with practical uses in mind, including merchandise such as custom travel mugs, shirts, and other printed products.
The illustration was refined into a flexible illustration system that could be applied across multiple colorways and products. While the subject matter remained intentionally ridiculous, the design process focused on creating repeatable compositions, clean vector artwork, and patterns that could scale effectively across both digital and physical applications.
